Dow Corning's new Solar Energy Exploration and Development
(SEED) research center in Belgium is dedicated to the development and
discovery of new silicon-based materials that could help the sustainable energy
industry reach new heights of efficiency.
Built with the very latest technology from Dow Corning, it's also a
demonstration of what can be achieved in sustainable, 'high-performance'
building. Innovative Dow Corning solutions such as 40mm Vacuum Insulation
Panels (instead of the usual 240mm panels needed to achieve the same level of
insulation), building integrated photovoltaics and more all contribute to the
building's expected low K value.
It's just one way we're pushing the boundaries of what's possible in renewable
energy to bring benefits to the whole energy industry – and the world.
